Work in Parliament Urgent action needed for manufacturers: the non-road mobile machinery case - European Commission's answer

Questions to the Commission and the Council | 29-06-2020

Answer given by Mr Breton on behalf of the European Commission P-002518/2020

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commission has been in permanent contact with the non-road mobile machinery industry as well as with the Member States and the European Parliament to find a solution to the disruptions affecting the completion of tractors and non-road mobile machinery fitted with transition engines within the deadline of 30 June 2020 set out in Regulation (EU) 2016/1628.

The Commission adopted a legislative proposal on 2 June to postpone the deadline by 12 months. The European Parliament and the Council are currently examining the proposal under the urgent procedure addressing the COVID-19 crisis.
