Work in Parliament Request for funding for biomedical research on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (B9-0186/2020)

Explanations of Vote | 17-06-2020

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, was recognized by the World Health Organization in 1990 in the category of diseases of the nervous system. It is estimated that there may be around 15 thousand patients in Portugal. It may be considered as a hidden public health problem in the EU. I supported this resolution that calls for additional funding and ask to prioritise calls for projects specifically focused on biomedical research into this syndrome.
