After thorough negotiations, finally the co-legislators reached an agreement on a new tyre labelling framework of rules on the labelling of tyres. It represents an important contribution to safer and cleaner mobility in the EU. The new tyre label will not be different from the current one, but it will give clearer information on fuel efficiency, wet grip, and external rolling noise. The updated tyre is a simple, efficient and widely used tool that inform and encourage changes in consumer behaviour and I did not have the need to vote on this file as it was widely supported by the whole plenary and no objections were moved to the approval of the new framework.
