Press Maria da Graça Carvalho: “We need to bring more women into technology”

MEP Maria da Graça Carvalho considers that there are not enough women working with technology in Europe, O Jornal Económico Online reports. MEP Carvalho’s report “Closing the Digital Gender Gap: Women’s Participation in the Digital Economy” aims at elaborating a set of proposals destined at involving women in technology.

MEP Carvalho praised the Commission’s proposals regarding the gender pay gap. However, the Portuguese MEP asked for “binding and sound measures” in both wages and “the role of women in sectors of increasing importance in society, such as sciences, computation, and digital technologies.”
