Causes The role of universities in Horizon 2020

Today at the European Parliament, Maria Graça Carvalho as Rapporteur on Horizon 2020 Specific Programme hosted a debate on the Future of European Research and the role of universities in Horizon 2020. The meeting was organized by the Consortium Linking Universities of Science and Technology for Education and Research - CLUSTER.

The discussion intended to highlight the involvement of universities in the next Horizon 2020 and how it should be accomplished to result useful and effective in respect of the current Horizon 2020 Pillars.

After the welcome and introduction from Maria da Graça Carvalho; José Santos-Victor, VP International Affairs IST-Lisbon, & CLUSTER Secretary General, made an intervention on CLUSTER in a nutshell: who we are and involvement in EU programmes.

The roundtable discussed "The role of universities in Horizon 2020" and the speakers were:

CLUSTER - Consortium Linking Universities of Science and Technology for Education and Research - is a consortium of 12 elite European Universities in Science and Engineering (and architecture) with associate members from around the world. In 2010, CLUSTER celebrated the twentieth anniversary, a long path where the role of Engineering Education has been questioned and best practices and policies for running our institutions to breed talent have been defined.
