Today, in the European Parliament, Maria da Graça Carvalho organized a Q&A session on the Open Access to research publications.
The session was opened to MEPs, European Commission and stakeholders.
In the meeting partipated Octavio Quintana Trias from the European Commission. Representing the publishers were Eric Merkel Sobotta, Springer Science and Business Media, Chairman of STM-Publishing; Ginny Barbour, Public Library of Science (PLoS), Editorial Director. The Point of view of academics was represented by Katrien Maes, League of European Research Universities (LERU) Chief Policy Officer; Inge Van Nieuwerburgh, University of Gent, project OpenAIRE and Françoise Vandooren, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Librarian.
